Coming Back to Love
The Mystical Heart with the Crack in the Skull
“Come back to love, my dear, come back to love!”
I invite you to a 12-day psychedelic retreat designed to guide you in returning to love — a journey back to our most essential root. Here, in a safe and supportive container, we’ll explore the visceral experience of love: how it feels, how the body responds, and how, given the right environment, love can flourish again like the branches, leaves, and crown of a deeply rooted tree. This retreat offers a powerful reorientation, bringing life into alignment with the heart's truth.
Pillars of the Journey
At the heart of this experience is Wachuma (San Pedro), a sacred Andean medicine known for its ability to open the heart and facilitate deep personal insight. Alongside the plant medicine, we’ll engage in meditative therapies that integrate Eastern wisdom, Andean and eastern shamanism, psychology, and philosophy. These practices are carefully chosen to help you access and nurture profound inner knowing and clarity.
Nestled within the serene Mountain House Retreat, this journey invites you to open to life with a renewed sense of wonder. Here, we will shed judgments, lean into life’s full splendor, and reconnect with our truest selves. Through immersive experiences and the sacred setting, we’ll awaken from mechanical existence and reconnect with our authentic nature.
The Temple of the Moon
The Temple complex offers a profound ceremonial journey that mirrors our transformative process. Beginning at the ancient Frog Temple for purification, we move through the Temple of the Moon - a sacred cave sanctuary where moonlight illuminates ancient stone carvings of the serpent, condor, and puma. These symbols represent the three worlds of Incan cosmology: Hanan Pacha (upper world), Kay Pacha (middle world), and Ukju Pacha (lower world).
Our journey culminates at the impressive San Pedro Temple, where a monolithic phallic structure rises from the earth, creating a perfect balance with the feminine moon energies. This unique arrangement of sacred spaces creates an ideal container for our work with the Huachuma medicine. The temple complex's connection to Qapac Ñan (the ancient Incan road network) and its proximity to other sacred sites like Sacsayhuaman adds to its spiritual significance. Here, the ancient wisdom encoded in stone meets our modern quest for healing and transformation.
The Significance of Nowruz and Its Connection to Our Retreat
Our retreat, "Coming Back to Love," takes place during a truly auspicious time: Nowruz, the Persian New Year. Nowruz, meaning "new day," marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes rebirth, renewal, and the celebration of light overcoming darkness. While we are gathered in the heart of Peru, far from the traditional celebrations of Nowruz in Iran, the essence of this sacred time transcends borders and time zones.
In many traditions, Nowruz is a moment to reflect on the past, cleanse the old, and plant the seeds of intention for the year ahead. It’s a time to reconnect with the cycles of nature, honor the balance of light and dark, and embrace the potential for growth and transformation.
Our retreat aligns beautifully with these themes. Over the course of our journey together, we will engage in practices that invite renewal—of mind, body, and spirit. Through sacred plant medicine ceremonies, meditative therapies, and connection with the powerful Andean landscapes, we will melt the essence of Nowruz into our schedule, creating a unique opportunity to align with this universal rhythm of rebirth.
This fusion of traditions—Andean and Persian—reminds us of the interconnectedness of all spiritual paths and the shared longing for transformation, love, and light. Together, we will embrace this potent time of year to come back to love, both within ourselves and with the world around us.

At the age of 20, Kannon moved to Europe, where he became deeply involved in the Sufi tradition, embracing practices such as whirling dervish meditation.
